Little Red Riding Hood

Saw this image a few days ago and it has been haunting me since. I love the motion of the subjects contrasted with the stillness of the woods.

I did a Little Red Riding Hood shoot of my own a while back, and it got me thinking about what a weird, morbid story it is. And so many parallels to be drawn between the characters and real life- a beautiful girl is stalked by a wild, vicious creature who targets her where she's most vulnerable: her family.

If only there were real-life woodsmen to save all the Little Red Riding hoods in the world*. Of course, it'd be even better if the beautiful girls could learn to come to their own defense, be their own knight in shining flannel.

P.S. Posted a new look to Lookbooks today. It's been described as Aunt Jemima, Carmen Miranda and Bebushka. All are incorrect and hilariously offensive. It's a turban, bitches. Deal with it.

*I'd also prefer it if people really could be vomited up alive after being eaten as opposed be semi-digested piles of goo. So.... there's a nice image for your Wednesday.

  1. Have you ever looked at the book "The Trials and Tribulations of Little Red Riding Hood"? I recommend it as someone totally obsessed with the story and its various interpretations and meanings.
