Drumroll please....A Giveaway! (Closed)

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED
I'm very excited to announce Erratic in Heels' very first giveaway! That's right! I have something awesome that I'm going to give to someone who reads the blog for free! What on earth is better than free stuff? LITERALLY NOTHING.
And what, you may ask, am I giving away? Why, this Breil watch, that's what.

I love the classic silhouette of it and the rose gold details are just the frosting on the cake*.
It's a great statement piece by itself or layered with other bracelets, and it goes with just about everything. Here are a few of the ways I've styled it:
Hat: H&M, Scarf: Printemps, Blazer: Berretta, T-shirt: California Casual, Pants: J. Brand, Boots: Frye

Shirt: Chelsea Flower, Shorts: H&M, Shoes: DIY as seen here

Shirt: Vintage, Jeans: H&M, Bracelets: Vintage
How would you style it?
To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post by Friday, February 3rd that includes your name and contact info.

For bonus points, share the love! Post a link to this page on your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blog and be sure to let me know about it in your comment. Another way to get an extra entry is to join the Breil mailing list- just click here.

*Disclaimer: I am not giving away cake. Any and all cake involved with the blog will be eaten by the author. Any and all cake that readers have and would like to share will be eaten by the author. Cake Cake Cake.

Cape DIY

I've wanted a cape for about a year, and have been holding out for The Right One, and finally thought I'd found it in this navy number from Asos in, of all places, the maternity section (what makes it maternity I don't know since the whole point of a cape is that you could be pregnant with quadruplets under there and no one would know:

But what you can't see in that picture is that the buttons are large and brown, and just weren't quite right. But I loved the color and the cut so, I went to M&J Trims in NYC and got replacement buttons and a little something extra, after browsing for hours. So. many. buttons. So. many. annoyed. salesmen. Now, I love it.

It's military, it's vintage-y and it just might carry me through my post-summer depression.

Weekend Projects

Well, my weekend so far has consisted of cake for breakfast, lots of aspirin (a rogue biker in Nuremburg appears to have buggered my shoulder) and geography lessons on YouTube. But I'm hoping things will take a more productive turn soon.

Speaking of productive, here is a project that I recently got around to after seeing this foot stool sit around my (very) messy office for ages. Everyone always told me reupholstering was incredibly easy but I never really believed them. But all you need is some small nails, fabric, a hammer, and something to pull out large staples with. And voila:
Before

After

I've been thinking about painting the wooden part, but I'm afraid that might make it a little bit too twee. Besides, I really should focus on getting my office to a place where I can walk in the door without fear of impaling my foot on something. Anyways, hope your weekend is going smashingly!

Weekend Projects

Made some shoes a few weekends ago and never got around to posting about them.

Before:

Cuteish, but I never wore them and I just wasn't feeling it anymore. So, here's the after:

Step 1: Clean shoes
Step 2: Tape over any parts of the shoe you don't want painted
Step 3: Spray paint heel, preferably a groovy metallic colour.
Step 4: Hotglue fake roses to shoes.
Step 5: Wear.

Have a great week!
